Wise Guy, Hampshire boar

Wise Guy

Hampshire 2026 Ohio State Fair Grand Champion

254-1 Peace Pipe × 5-7 Con Lass

Prime Season — $150.00 a dose

Semen is guaranteed.

Off Season Pricing: 3 doses for $150.00.

We are very excited about our Ohio State Fair purchase. Wise Guy is the kind of Hampshire boar that's refreshing to find — athletic, active, and able to maintain genuine width both underneath and across his top. His pedigree runs deep with Savage Genetics and a powerhouse Facts boar from Shaffer's Goldrush, giving him the kind of foundation we trust.

Our goal was simple: find a sound, working-class Hampshire boar — clean made, honest in his build, and not dressed up with fluff. Wise Guy checks every box. His length of hip ties directly into his length of stride, allowing him to move with ease and purpose. That structural correctness makes him the right kind of boar to move the Hampshire breed forward for generations to come.

If you're looking to add athleticism, width, and genuine build to your herd, give Wise Guy a try. He's the kind of boar that will improve the Hampshire breed the right way — sound, functional, and built to last.

Duroc

247-4 Double DD's — 8-2 Protractor × 208-2 Up My Sleeve

Prime Season — $125.00 a dose

Semen is guaranteed.

Off Season Pricing: 3 doses for $125.00.

It's been years since we've had a Duroc boar on the farm, and bringing one back into our herd wasn't a casual decision. We wanted a boar that could improve our feeder pigs — faster growth, better coverage, and improved performance for our farm and our customers — and introduce strong Duroc genetics into our sow herd for growth, feed efficiency, and meat quality.

When we started the search, we reached out to Darrel Drake because we were looking for growthy, fast-developing genetics — and he did not disappoint. Double DD's is exactly the combination boar we were after: heavy-structured and quick growing, yet still the kind that can sire high-quality replacement females and competitive show pigs. He stands on even toes, with good angles and clean joints, offers extension through his front end, a long level rump, and a smooth level top.

A sincere thank you to Darrel and the entire Drake family for the opportunity to purchase a boar of great genetics.

Take 5, Yorkshire boar

Take 5

Yorkshire

4-5 Take 5 — 11-5 Hot Take × 23-2 Statement

Prime Season — $125.00 a dose

Semen is guaranteed.

Off Season Pricing: 3 doses for $125.00.

When we first evaluated Take 5, he wasn't standing alone on shavings or fluffed up on show feed — he was in his everyday working clothes, running on slatted flooring with a group of young boars, eating standard grower rations. Even in that raw, honest setting, he stood out immediately.

Take 5 is a stout-made Yorkshire boar with correctness built into every step: big, even toes, strong durable pasterns, and wide and blown apart underneath, front and back. His pedigree is stacked with proven Yorkshire genetics — sired by Hot Take (Shipley Genetics), the Grand Champion Boar at the 2023 Indiana State Fair, and linebred to Shine-On, another Indiana State Fair Champion. On the bottom side, Take 5 goes back to George Watson, a name any Yorkshire breeder recognizes.

Take 5 brings real-world durability, structure, and a championship-backed pedigree — the kind of boar built to move the Yorkshire breed forward.

Maximus, Hampshire boar

Maximus

Hampshire

228-2 Maximus — 4-3 Mad Max × 4-1 The Program

Prime Season — $125.00 a dose

Semen is guaranteed.

Off Season Pricing: 3 doses for $125.00.

If you are looking for a Hampshire that will sire pigs that grow, sows that lay down and milk like a Hampshire sow should, and have longevity in the farrowing house, give Maximus a try. His pedigree reads like a who's who in the Hampshire breed — in Drake Purebred Farm's June production sale, three littermate gilts from this pedigree were offered, including the highest-selling gilt (two sold for $1,050.00 and $1,150.00) — clear proof of the strength built into Maximus' lineage.

Maximus is super sound, big-boned, wide from his head to his tail, structurally correct, great on his feet, and loaded with productivity. Let's make breeding Hampshire fun again — study this picture, give this guy a shot, and watch your pigs grow.

Old School

Duroc

218-3 Old School — 2-4 Old School × 23-2 Statement

Prime Season — $125.00 a dose

Semen is guaranteed.

Off Season Pricing: 3 doses for $125.00.

We are extremely happy to have brought this guy back to our farm. Old School is exactly what his name suggests — a rugged, powerful, old-style Duroc boar. He carries a massive boar's skull, is bigger framed, and is built with excellent hip and leg structure. He's extremely heavy-boned with huge feet and the kind of durability you expect from a true herd sire.

On the bottom side of his pedigree, his dam goes back to the $290,000 Statement Day boar — a foundation boar that adds even more credibility to what you see in front of you. With a pedigree like this and the kind of look Old School brings, he checks all the right boxes.

If you want to make your herd heavier, more rugged, and elevate them with true Duroc power, give 218-3 Old School a look. We don't think you will be disappointed.

Photo coming soon — check back for his picture.
